The Oaks Community Church Jerusalem 4 Jesus Special Events
(special events targeted for our surrounding community)
Guidelines

The Oaks Community Church family is blessed to include members from a wide diversity of ages, backgrounds, and locations.   We are a family who loves joining together for worshipping, learning, and growing in our love for God.  However, our “wide diversity” also has a downside.  Many within our family do not know each other!  We grow in our love for God, but we often fall short on our growth in love for one another.  It is not uncommon to have brothers and sisters in Christ at The Oaks who you have never even met! J  In an effort to help encourage and strengthen our love for one another (especially within specific age groups), The Oaks Leadership Board of Elders has approved the organization of special “targeted” events within our church family.  We hope to encourage some genuine “outside-the-box” “off-the-chain” J thinking and approaches to encouraging and strengthening our love for one another within the immediate Oaks family.  Here are the guidelines:

1)  Event must have a primary goal of encouraging love for one another within The Oaks family.

2)  Event must be organized by a committee of at least two persons of the target age group, and at least one must be a member of The Oaks Community Church.

3)  A brief overview of the event (including cost) must be developed by the committee and submitted to Pastor Marty at least 30 days prior to the event.  He will then present it to the Jerusalem-4-Jesus subcommittee for approval.

4)  Targeted age groups are college, 20-somethings, 30-somethings, 40+.

5)  Of course, all ages may be “targeted” if the committee wishes to do this.

6)  If approved, the church will cover the cost through our Judea-4-Jesus Fund.  Hint:  Events with a cost estimate of $1000 or less will have a much higher probability of approval. J

7)  Following each event, there must be a one-page evaluation completed and submitted to Pastor Marty.  He will then submit it to the Jerusalem-4-Jesus subcommittee for review.  Please use the following guidelines:
-a brief summary of the event
            -attendance
            -cost
-effectiveness (especially evaluate in regard to growing in love for one another)

8)  Have fun!
